Sam Battaglia creates contemporary fine art paintings and drawings that celebrate the beauty and mysteries of the human figure,

Often classically and realistically rendered, and always emotionally executed, his attempts at divining the essence of the subject
are contained within the strokes of charcoal, pastel, ink, watercolor, and paint laid onto canvas, linen, and paper.
Representations of the beautiful and the difficult are equally revered and allowed to manifest as the art reveals itself during the
creative process, whether spontaneously as the marks are made, or more conscientiously. The connections shared between all things known
and imagined is a recurring theme.

at which I marvel and embrace. To be a mark maker, an artist, is an amazing journey.

Sam Battaglia, maestro di arte contemporanea, realizza dipinti e disegni che celebrano la bellezza e i misteri della figura umana,
i molteplici aspetti del paesaggio, e la tranquillità della natura morta.
Resi spesso in maniera classica e realistica, ed eseguiti sempre con notevole pathos, i suoi tentativi di scoprire l'essenza del soggetto si
manifestano attraverso i tratti di carboncino, pastello, inchiostro, acquerello e le pennellate di colore steso su tela, lino e carta.
La rappresentazione della bellezza e della complessità è venerata in egual misura ed ha permesso di rivelare come, nel corso del processo creativo,
l'arte si sviluppa spontaneamente, attraverso il segno lasciato dall’artista, o in maniera più accurata. I legami esistenti tra gli elementi
noti e quelli appartenenti all’immaginario rappresentano un tema ricorrente.
I disegni e i dipinti riguardanti l’aspetto umano e le rappresentazioni figurative, siano esse realistiche o astratte, fanno parte della più grande
tradizione dell’espressione artistica. Gli artisti che hanno lasciato il proprio segno sulle pareti delle caverne a beneficio dei nostri antenati,
hanno un legame con tutti gli artisti di cui mi stupisco e che abbraccio idealmente. Per lasciare il segno, un artista deve fare un percorso straordinario.
